Gabriella Pedraza, a senior at the Town of Webb High School, was named the January Student of the Month by The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks in the Club’s senior student recognition program, done in cooperation with the Town of Webb Schools, based on her community service, academic record, athletic and other extra-curricular activities as well as student need. She and her parents, Maria and Victor Pedraza of Old Forge, will be guests at a Kiwanis Recognition Event where she make a brief presentation and receive a $50 prize. She will also be eligible to be named Student of the Year, chosen by School administrators from all the year’s monthly winners, to receive a $500 prize. The program was started in 2007. This year the Town of Webb Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is a partner with Kiwanis for the Student of the Year Award program.  

Erica (Pylman) and Jay Lachance of Sutton, Mass. have a new baby daughter, Aria Rose, born December 9, 2011 weighing six pounds, seven ounces. Proud grandparents are Connie and Jack Foley of Old Forge, Cyndi and Tim Pylman of Holland Patent and Judi and John Lachance of Thompson, Conn.
