Kevin Kress and Connor Rockhill named to CNY indoor track team

Tuesday, April 10, 2012 - Updated: 11:48 AM

In a just released report by the Syracuse Post-Standard, it was learned that two members of our boys’ indoor track team were named to the All CNY (Central New York) Indoor Track Team. The two members, Kevin Kress and Connor Rockhill, were two of the 22 athletes selected by a panel of Section III coaches.

Most of the athletes came from AA and A schools and no school had more than two on their team selected. That puts Old Forge in fast company when a school that has an enrollment that puts them in the bottom third of Class D schools can match any of the largest schools in the section.

Kress and Rockhill will be counted on heavily to help the outdoor track team repeat as champions this spring. They were selected based on winning the high jump and pole vault respectively in the state qualifying meet. Both now hold the school record in those events and both hope to improve upon their records during the spring season.

The honor that these two boys just received is a great one as it is not just for the Utica area but for the entire Section III area that has 108 schools participating in it.
