The Herkimer County Sheriff’s Office will be holding two separate New York State Boating Safety classes in June at the Sheriff’s Office at 320 North Main Street Herkimer.

Two course dates are available, June 2 and June 16. The classes start at 8 a.m. and will be nine hours in length.

Upon successful completion of the class a New York State Safe Boating certificate will be issued. This course is a requirement for any one intending to operate a personal watercraft in any state waters.

There is no charge by the Sheriff’s Office for the course and anyone interested in attending should contact the Sheriff’s Office at (315) 867-1167 to sign up in advance.
