Memorial Day events scheduled

The annual American Legion Memorial Day Parade in Old Forge will begin at 10 a.m., on Monday, May 28.

Those marching in the parade include the Covey-Pashley American Legion Post 893,Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9314, the Old Forge Fire Department, and the Town of Webb High School Band.

Participants should line up on the Gilbert Street side of the school at 9:45 a.m.

The parade will proceed up Main Street, stopping to lay wreaths at the school, Fire Hall, and Community Veteran’s War Memorial before continuing on to Riverside Cemetery.

The TOW School band will perform under the direction of Greg Clark and the Bell Choir will present songs of America under the direction of Sue Rundell. Colonel John Balbierer, the Vice Wing Commander for the 174th Fighter Wing of the New York National Guard will be the guest speaker.

All are invited for refreshments at the American Legion Hall after the ceremony.
