The Woodgate Volunteer Fire Department will be holding its second annual Sink-A-Boat Fundraiser starting at 9 a.m. at the White Lake Shores Beach A, across from the White Lake Inn on Aug. 4.

Fire department teams consisting of four members each will be tied and anchored approximately 65 feet apart in 12 foot rowboats. The teams will attempt to sink each others boats with water from a small-diameter fire hose. The contest will follow a double elimination format with the winning team receiving a rotating trophy and the top three teams each receiving a plaque.

Pre-registration is appreciated but registrations will be accepted until 8:30 a.m. the morning of the event.

Woodgate Team 2 will be defending the championship title from 2011. The team from Eagle Bay finished in second place and Otter Lake took home the third place prize.

Spectators are welcome and there will be no admission fee. Please bring your own seating and make a day of it. Refreshments will be sold by the Woodgate Volunteer Fire Department.
