The riders of the Norridgewock boat saw a little more scenery than they had planned July 21.

According to a witness, James M. Burns of Syracuse was seen nude at one of the campsites on Stillwater.

“He Just kind of strolled and posed,” said boat operator Scott Thompson.

According to others the naked man had been walking around by the water for the better part of the day.

A complaint was made to the DEC, which made an arrest of Burns, 50, for “intentional lewd nudity.”

He was then transported to State Police headquarters where he was arrested by trooper Piekielniak for possessing an illegal uzi-style gun, which upon examination was deemed to be less than 26 inches in length, fitting the criteria of possessing a handgun without a permit.

Burns was charged and issued appearance tickets for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of  marijuana.

Additional charges may be forthcoming.
