Sailors enjoy sixth weekend of racing on Fourth Lake

Tuesday, August 14, 2012 - Updated: 1:08 PM

The Central Adirondack Sailing Association held their sixth weekend of racing in shifty southeast winds under sunny skies on Aug. 4. Twelve Flying Scotts competed in two races. Paul Wilsey with crew Butch Hartsig captured a first and third place. The Sanzone boat captured a first place and a fifth place. The Mandia boat received second and sixth place. Tom McCabe with nephew Kevin Cowles captured a second and seventh place. The Steigerwald/Jeffrey boat received a third and eighth place. CASA was happy to welcome back Flying Scott number 1698 with new owners, the Eichors, after a long hiatus from racing on Fourth Lake. CASA would particularly like to thank the race committee of Phil Sanzone, Mark Steigerwald, John Jeffrey and particularly Patty Slater for their efforts in setting up and running the race. Sailboat races will be held at 3 p.m. every Saturday on Fourth lake until Aug. 18. All sailboats are welcome, especially Sunfish. Call Paul Willsey (315) 357-6060 with any questions.
