Where the buck stops

This six-point buck has been hanging around Thendara right on Route 28. He is growing his rack and building up his energy for mating season, which will start at the end of October. The bigger a buck’s antlers are, usually the healthier the buck is. Antlers grow from leftover food energy, so a buck who is well-fed has a better chance of having an impressive rack. Apparently the food choices this year have been to this buck’s liking.
