Great Camp Sagamore is pleased to announce that Garet Livermore, Vice President for 15 years for Education at the New York State Historical Association and the Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown, will be its new Executive Director.

Beverly Bridger, Executive Director at Great Camp Sagamore since 1989 will retire at the end of the year.

"Garet Livermore will be an effective and creative ED. We are privileged to welcome him," Bridger says.

Great Camp Sagamore was built in 1897 and became the Vanderbilt family wilderness retreat from 1901-1954.

It is now under the auspices of a not-for-profit organization that preserves its 27 Nation Historic Landmark designated buildings and is dedicated to their use for educational and interpretive purposes.

An active tourism partner in the Adirondacks, Great Camp Sagamore welcomes 10,000 each year to its Raquette Lake site.
