State Police in Herkimer and Remsen continue to investigate a shooting that occurred at the Forge Motel in Old Forge. The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Aug. 25. The victim was identified as Catherine B. Koestner, 30, from Utica, who was transported from the scene to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica where she succumbed to her injuries. The investigation reveals the victim’s boyfriend was a witness to the incident and he is  cooperating with the investigation. Koestner was a math teacher for four years at Proctor High School. The investigation is continuing.
