Fulton Chain Gang returns

The Fulton Chain Gang is slated to return for Long Lake’s second annual Labor Day chicken barbecue on Saturday, Sept. 4, performing from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion in Long Lake. This event is co-sponsored by the Long Lake Fire Department and the Town of Long Lake.

For more than 15 years, The Fulton Chain Gang has entertained audiences throughout Central and Northern New York. They have shared the stage with numerous artists including Billy Currington, Joe Diffie, Sammy Kershaw, Tracy Lawrence, and Toby Keith.

With their high-energy stage presence and hard-driving country-rock style, the Fulton Chain Gang always pleases the crowd and keeps them coming back for more.

The Chain Gang blends early country and southern rock with more contemporary music to make a show that is enjoyable and fun for all ages. From the excellent lighting to high quality sound, the Chain Gang consistently delivers high energy entertainment. They fill the dance floor and deliver crowd pleasing performances.

The Long Lake Fire Department broke records with last year’s bountiful chicken barbecue and they plan to do it again. The meal includes a half chicken, coleslaw, beans, potatoes and a roll for $8, ear of corn for an additional $1 and water or soda for $1 at a total cost of $10. Kid’s plates with hot dog, coleslaw, beans and potatoes are $4. Take out will also be available.

The Long Lake Department is celebrating 75 years of service in the community and is currently raising money to support the Fire Department Building Fund and they will be drawing their raffle for the 2010 Polaris Ranger 400 provided by Progressive Motorsports of Hudson Falls, N.Y. Tickets are $10, and the winner will be drawn on Sept. 4. Raffle tickets are available at area businesses.

All ages are welcome to bring a blanket, a chair, or just enjoy the picnic tables at the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion. There will be fireworks at dusk over the town beach or you can view them from the Pavilion at Mt. Sabattis.
