Shelby McGill, 16, a sophomore at Town of Webb School, was one of the featured guests at the “A Place to Dream” conference in Lake Placid, Saturday, Sept. 8.

The three-day exploration of Adirondack cultural heritage was held at the High Peaks Resort. The Adirondack Photography Institute’s John Radigan and Mark Bowie discussed how photographs have played many roles in the history of the Adirondacks. Multi-talented Shelby told about one of the profound changes in photographic technology — using the photo-phone.

Some of her iPhone images were shown on the big screen. Shelby enjoys many art forms—music, painting, sculpting, sewing and “fursuiting.” She was pleased to share some of her artistic creations at the API display table.
