Benefit set for Patrick Russell

Wednesday, May 12, 2010 - Updated: 3:08 AM

Patrick Russell, a native of Old Forge and county legislator for the Town of Webb, was recently diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer. To help defray his expenses while he goes through treatment, his friends and family are holding a benefit.

The benefit is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., on May 22 at McCauley Mountain. The cost is $10 per adult and $5 for kids, with a $30 cap per family. Organizers are asking people to bring a dish to pass and auctions and raffles are planned.

The event’s organizers, Bonnie Baker and Nanci Russell, are looking for donations for the raffles and auctions. If you can donate something to the event, call Baker at (315) 369-5022 or Russell at (315) 369-3878.

An account has been set up at Community Bank for donations. Call the bank at (315) 369-2764 for more information.
