Beaver River cabin owner facing charge

A Lowville man has been charged with assaulting a woman in his cabin near Beaver River in the Town of Webb.

Jeffrey Jordan, 41, of 109 George Road, Lowville was arrested Saturday, Jan. 13, after the female victim of the alleged assault called 911. Forest Rangers and Town of Webb Police arrived at the cabin by snowmobile and found a 42-year-old female who had apparently been beaten. The victim was transported to Utica to be treated for a broken bone in her face as well as some other minor injuries.

Jordan was taken custody at the scene and was also taken to the hospital in Utica to be treated for minor inures. He was released to the custody of the State Police and was remanded to the Herkimer County Jail on $35,000 cash and $70,000 bail bond. He has been charged with one count of assault.

The investigation is continuing.
