Police Report - 03/13/2012

Town of Webb Police Dept.

On Tuesday, Feb. 28, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Town of Webb police responded to a personal injury snowmobile accident on the pipeline trail (Trail 1) in Old Forge. Michael Caram, of Castle Creek N.Y., was heading north when he struck an hole in the trail. He lost control of his snowmobile and was ejected from the sled. Caram was airlifted to a Utica Hospital where he was treated for internal injuries.

On Saturday, March 3, at approximately 2 p.m., Town of Webb Police investigated a personal injury snowmobile accident on Indian Point Road. Benjamin Ryberg, of New York City, was operating a snowmobile when he failed to negotiate a curve, struck an embankment, and became airborne. Ryberg was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where he was treated for a broken back.

On Saturday, March 3, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Town of Webb Police investigated a personal injury snowmobile accident that occurred on Third Lake, near Silver Bay Rd. A snowmobile, operated by Paul Amarosa, of Mount Sinai, N.Y., struck an embankment. Amarosa was ejected from the snowmobile. He was transported to a Utica hospital for a fractured leg.

On Sunday, March 4, Town of Webb Police arrested a Lowville woman on an outstanding warrant. Katie Bohn had a warrant out for her arrest stemming from Petit Larceny charges in the Town of Webb four years ago. She appeared in Town of Webb Court on March 5, where she pled guilty and paid her fines.

On Monday, March 5, Town of Webb Police investigated a personal injury snowmobile accident that occurred on Lakeview Avenue. A snowmobile driven by Dennis Keefe, of Tequesta, Fla., struck a snowbank, causing the snowmobile to flip over on top of Keefe. He was transported to a Utica hospital where he was treated for a broken shoulder.

On Tuesday, March 6, Michael Giovinco was arraigned before Justice James Miller on charges of third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and possession of marijuana. Giovinco was remanded to Herkimer County Correctional facility in lieu of bail.
