Old Forge Plein Air Paint Out to be held Labor Day weekend

Visitors to Old Forge are enchanted by the breathtaking Adirondack landscape and waterways. This Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3 - 5, artists will capture these scenes as the Arts Center/Old Forge presents the Old Forge Plein Air Paint Out.

Painters will be in designated areas throughout Old Forge and Inlet, including Old Forge’s main street, the lakefront, and the scenic green bridge. Maps and guidebooks will be available at all of the painting locations and in a tent in the center of town so  you can go see the artists working.

The same tent will have a display of paintings by participating artists as well as “Decked Out Trout & Bass With Class,” a silent auction of wooden fish transformed by artists.

The Paint Out will culminate in a live auction of the paintings created over the weekend at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, under a tent in the center of town next to The Forge Motel before the village fireworks take place.

Live entertainment will be also be part of the weekend event.

For more information, contact the Arts Center/Old Forge at (315) 369-6411. To see a list of artists who plan to participate, or to view the Decked Out Trout & Bass With Class, visit www.artscenteroldforge.org.
