The Town of Webb UFSD Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Special Topics were:

Travel Club trip to Costa Rica—Joanna Cloherty and Shannon Hoffman reviewed the itinerary and dilemma regarding the fee for the second chaperone. Cloherty and Hoffman solicited ideas to help raise money to pay for an extra chaperon. Since there will be seven students on the trip, the only the cost for one chaperone is covered. Review of Board Policy Section 000’s

The Board of Education took the following action:

Approved the tax collector’s report.

Approved returning the taxes to the county.

Approved the CSE Recommendation.

Approved the winter sports coaches: Grade 3, 4, 5, and 6 intramural basketball—Dave Clark, Nordic ski lesson instructor—Janine Phaneuf

Alpine ski lesson instructors—Jon Brosemer, Diane Heroux, Meagan Ulrich

Established an extra Board of Education meeting for budget preparation on January 31, 2012

Approved the revised Board of Education Policies: 002.1 — Number of Members and 007.2 — Policy Dissemination

Approved the Travel Club trip to Costa Rica

Approved the appointment of Jane Tormey and Barbara Fetterman as 2011-2012 census takers.

Approved the first reading Board of Education Policy 412—animals—dissection in the science classroom.

Approved the request from CAA for the use of buses and drivers for Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 for Christmas on Main Street and Dec. 10, 2011 for Snodeo.

Accepted the low bid of $29,950 from Central New York Construction, for the sanitary sewer project at the technology building.

Approved the continuation of Andrew Kalil’s appointment as School Resource Officer.
