Thanks to a fast start by the Hot Screamers, they kept a hold on first place with a victory over last year’s league champs.

Kyle Hauser led off with a double, scoring on a single by Polly Murphy. DeDe St. Marie followed with a hit up the middle. Karen Hoskins knocked in two runs with a triple. She scored on a hit from Misty McGough. Crystal LaPorte, Emily Wilton and Jen Hitchcock each hit safely to cap off a six run, eight hit inning.

With one out in the second inning, Kyle Hauser again started things with a hit and was followed by Heather Levi’s triple. Levi scored on St. Marie’s single to give the team a 8 - 0 lead.

Matt’s Hot Screamers scored one more in the third inning on back to back doubles by Katlyn Payne and Crystal LaPorte. The Inn on Gore scored once in the fourth inning and twice in the sixth inning to make the final score 9 - 3.

Batting leaders were Kyle Hauser and DeDe St. Marie with three hits each and Crystal LaPorte with two. LaPorte had a strong overall game with solid outfield play. Misty McGough and DeDe St. Marie split the game as pitcher and both did very well.

Strong defense has been a constant for this team and every player has done their part to help this team succeed. Next opponent is the Misfits from North Creek at 6:30 p.m. on July 17 at Arrowhead Park.
