The annual Christy Cup match play event between Inlet and Thendara golf clubs was held Sept. 25 at Thendara Golf Club under sunny autumn skies. The score at the end of the competition was Thendara 7, Inlet 5. Following the match, the two teams retired to the Grill Room at Thendara to discuss the game, watch a presentation of the Christy Cup to the winners and to enjoy a fine dinner prepared by Jim Holt’s staff. With good fellowship and much laughter, Roger Lind presented the trophy to George Hiltebrant, President of the Thendara Golf Club. He happily accepted the trophy and placed it on the mantlepiece. Both Roger and George spoke to the tradition of the Cup and the friendships that this trophy brings with it. Roland Christy was unable to be present and every one wished him a speedy recovery from his illness. He was much missed by the group.
