Tug Hill Commission offers training

TRAINING: Erosion and Sediment Control Workshop for Construction Site Contractor and Operators

WHEN: January 19, 2012, 8:00 am – Noon (Breakfast and Sign in start at 7:30 am)

WHERE: Hilton Garden Inn, Watertown, NY (1290 Arsenal Street, Watertown, New York, 13601)

WHY: Under the SPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Construction Activity, certain contractors (Trained Contractor) and certain Qualified Inspectors are required to complete 4 hours of Department endorsed training in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control (E&SC) every 3 years. To satisfy this training requirement, the Department of Environmental Conservation is partnering with County Soil and Water Conservation Districts across the State to deliver a 4 hour Erosion & Sediment Control training course. This class may also be of interest to Code Enforcement Officers and municipal/county planning/zoning board members for continuing education credits.

This workshop is being offered free of charge, but pre-registration is required by January 13, 2012 by contacting the Tug Hill Commission at 315-785-2380 or jennifer@tughill.org. This training is sponsored by the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District with assistance from the NYS Tug Hill Commission.

Please arrive at 7:30 am for breakfast and to sign in. Training will begin at 8:00 am and end at approximately noon.
