Dance studios presnt benefit show

Tuesday, May 29, 2012 - Updated: 1:46 PM

On Saturday, June 9th, two local dance studios will present "Dancers Unite, Helping to Fight" as a benefit show for Ben Towles.

Dancers from Newton Dance Company and Rhonda's FooteWorks will come together on the Dulles State Office Building Auditorium stage on that evening at 7:00 p.m. to perform for Ben. Dancers from both studios know Ben, and all of the dancers can relate to someone from their peer group fighting so bravely against cancer.

Allie Newton and Rhonda Foote have worked together on Relay for Life performances, and the two studio directors struck up a conversation about the importance of bringing local dancers together to build friendships and work toward a common goal. Allie and Rhonda both feel that the show is a wonderful way to exemplify what working together can accomplish. "Ben is a hero. There is no other explanation for how he continues to fight. All of the dancers will give a knockout performance for this young man." Says Rhonda Foote.

There will be a silent auction and 50/50 raffle and donations for Ben will be taken at the door. 100% of the funds raised at this event will benefit Ben and his family and assist with travel costs for his treatments and hospital stays.

Anyone wishing to donate items for the silent auction may contact Allie Newton at 315-921-4233 or Rhonda Foote at 315-767-3978.

The show will feature eight acts from each dance studio and guest performances from Ticia Marra's Stage Notes.
