Freedom March organizers thank supporters

Pat Venetz and Sam Phaneuf would like to thank all of those who contributed and participated in the First Annual Freedom March of the Adirondacks which took place on Sunday, June 24. The number of participants for the walk and run gave us a total of 60 people and one canine.

Combined with charitable donations, the registration fee, and fundraising by the participants Pat and I are glad to announce that the Wounded Warrior Project will be receiving $4,511 from the event.

If you’d still like to try to help us reach our goal of $5,000 please make a check out to the American Legion Freedom March or the Wounded Warrior Project and send it to PO Box 951, Old Forge, NY13420 and we can send it to the WWP with the money made from the event.

Also, if you’re interested in shirts or posters from the event please give Sam Phaneuf a call at (315) 369-8777 or Pat Venetz a call at (315) 369-5740.

Wounded Warriors appreciate welcome

A sincere thank you to the town of Old Forge for welcoming our group and making us feel at home during the week of June 25. Your kindness and support meant the world to us as we trained to assist warriors returning to civilian life after serving our county. Because of your generosity, we were also able to enjoy some of the treasures of the Old Forge area as well. A very special thank you to to following for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome:

The American Legion; Mike Farmer, Town of Webb Tourism Director in assisting the group with recreational activities; Old Forge Lake Cruises; Town of Webb Police Department; McCauley Mountain Ski Center; Adirondack Scenic Railroad; Water’s Edge Inn; The Weekly Adirondack; Frankie’s Italian Restaurant; Van Auken’s Inne; Daiker’s and the Old Forge Information Center.

We hope to return in the future as training becomes necessary and also with our families as many in the group have found a new place to vacation.

Sincerely,

Frank LoGalbo

National Service Director, Wounded Warrior Project and the Wounded Warrior Project Benefit Team
