Cards of thanks

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 - Updated: 12:08 PM

St. William’s thanks volunteers

Thanks, and much appreciation to all whom helped at the chicken bar barbecue and also to those behind the scenes people, who are always about giving a hand.

From our generous boat drivers, who donate their boats, time, and gas; to our salad preparers, dessert makers, drink dispensers, cake cutters, kitchen staff grounds crew, chicken grillers, and pot and pan washers, ticket sellers and procurers, so many different hats, you all wear.

Many, many, thanks on behalf of STWLP. Again, you are appreciated.

Please  stop over and enjoy the boat house annex for a game of ping pong, maybe read a book, enjoy the view of the lake. Play some horse shoes outside, a  bit of bocce ball. Come and enjoy this  majestic historical site. Raquette Lake is blessed.

And as Always, with regards and in  friendship

Randy and Sandra Monhollen

We are privileged to be site managers and coordinators of this most majestic historical site on Raquette Lake St. William’s on Long Point. Amazing.

Raquette Lake first responders thanked

On Feb. 19, I sustained an injury in a snowmobile accident at Raquette Lake.

This is a huge note of thanks to the Raquette Lake Fire Department and Rescue Team for their quick response and knowledge in treating my spinal cord injury.

They are life savers.

As a summer resident there, I know that the Raquette Lake Fire Department and Rescue Team has done exceptionally well taking care of their community. Thank you again.

Greene family appreciates support

Jeff and I wish to sincerely thank everyone in the community for their prayers, mass cards, flowers, plants and delicious meals that were showered on us during my recent illness.

Helping the caregiver really helps the family.

There is no other place on the planet we would rather live than in Old Forge.

The community makes the town.

Thanks again for thinking of us,

Phoebe and Jeff Greene

Candyman offers thanks for response

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 24, a bear attempted to gain entry into the Candy Cottage by ripping the boards off the exterior wall.

I would like to thank the Old Forge Police Department for their quick response, who in turn notified Department of Environmental Conservation Officers Russ Ritzel, Steve Heerkens and Wildlife Tech Christina Domser.

The bear caused significant damage which has since been repaired.

We are grateful for everyone’s immediate response.
