Cards of thanks

Tuesday, October 23, 2012 - Updated: 11:48 AM

Thanks to Mountainman

The Old Forge Ballet Co. recently received radio equipment donated by John Nemjo of the Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company in Old Forge. The Board of Directors are pleased that a local business was able to step up and contribute to the non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the culture of classical ballet to the Adirondacks. Thank you also to Jeffrey Greene, Technical Director of the Ballet Co. for securing the donation.

Big Rock Cottages are private

Roger and Kitty Blind would like the Central Adirondack business community to know that they have ceased to operate as a lodging facility at Big Rock Cottages as of this past Columbus Day.

The Town of Webb Information Center staff would like to take this opportunity to thank them for providing a wonderful Adirondack experience for their guests over the years and to wish them a happy retirement.

Seagers work for environment

I would like to publicly recognize Bob and Joan Seager of Woodgate for their years of work to conserve the environment.

Near and far, they have worked fearlessly on any environmental issue that would jeopardize sensitive lands—including wetlands—deforestation and other compromises to the environment that remove needed habitat for wildlife.

Our generation, but more importantly, future generations will benefit from all their hard work.

Bob and Joan, thank you.

Shirley Cornish,

Woodgate

Farmer family grateful for support

The Farmer family thanks everyone in the community who gave so greatly their valued friendship and support and during Shawn’s battle. It is truly overwhelming and reflects not only the outstanding and ready character of our community, but also the impact of Shawn’s spirit on his broad family of friends. Words cannot adequately express our appreciation.

We also wish to sincerely thank all those who contacted and visited Shawn, and those who traveled to Whiteface Mountain on a busy Columbus Day weekend to share in the celebration of Shawn’s life. Also, thanks so much to those who could not make the trip, but offered their condolences. The many smiling remembrances keep Shawn with us and keep the memory of him from fading.

Patrick, Michael, Rick
