Cards of thanks - 11/08/2011

Louie says thanks

To the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team, the fans, the fire department, ball boys, and Travis Kiefer, thank you so much.

... To come back in the second half.  I’m so proud of each and every one of you, and a special thanks to our bench support.

Now I’m going to sit down and relax my stomach for at least one day then get ready for Hamilton.

Thank you everyone,

Louie Ehrensbeck

BVS Coach

KYAC says thank you for the lock-in

On behalf of the Board of Directors of KYAC I would like to announce that the 2011 lock in at the TOW School was another success.

We had 61 students grades sixth through ninth from TOW and Inlet School. We went through 15 pizzas, 105 bottles of water, dozens of sweets, fruits, veggies, mounds of breakfast pizza, pancakes, sausages and cinnamon buns. Our kids sure can eat!

There were video games (I managed to beat those who challenged me in Kinect boxing, sorry boys), basketball, volleyball, crafts, movies and free time in the gym.  And through all of this, a few kids managed to catch some shut-eye.

Thanks go out to so many. First and foremost, the Town of Webb Union Free School District and Rex Germer—thank you so much for letting us use your facility and equipment. Thanks to Bob Roach for hanging out with us all night and cleaning up after us. To our chaperones—Chris Gaige, Kristie Lawrence, Greg Clark, Caitlyn Goodwin, Margaret DiOrio, Amy Townsend, Andy Kalil and Frank Panaro—your help was invaluable. Kinney Drugs, Fastrac and Chris Holt—thank you for your donations to help keep us fed. Diane Amos and Diane Gaige, thank you so much for a fabulous breakfast.  It was a wonderful spread and the cinnamon rolls were the perfect ending for a wonderful event.

Kids—you guys were wonderful. It was a fun and safe night and you all pitched in when needed.

Give me a few days, then we’ll start planning for next year’s lock in.

Kelly Hamlin

Vice President, KYAC Board of Directors
