Cards of thanks

Lakeside Terrace sends it thanks

The tenants of Lakeside Terrace Apartments would like to thank the Old Forge 4-H Club, under the direction of Tammy and Ashley Andre, for decorating our atrium.

4-H Club members Helen and Karen Thornton, Kaitlyn Brigham and parent volunteers Anne and Tony Thornton, as well as community volunteers Kevin and Patricia Larrabee, shared the holiday spirit by spending their time and talents to make others happy.

“Horticulture and community service are two main focuses of this 4-H Club,” says Tammy, “as well as the environmental sciences, theatre, textiles and woodworking.”

A thank you also goes out to the Old Forge Garden Club for bringing Jimmie Ortiz, of Feathers and Boughs, to present a program on holiday decorating. Each resident received a poinsettia and refreshments were served to round out a fun filled morning.

Thanks to all and Happy Holidays,

Liz Maio

and Phoebe Greene

ARTA appreciates support

Thank you to everyone who signed up to support the Snowmobile and Recreational Trail on the rail corridor north of Old Forge. People are beginning to get the information on job creation, economic impact and societal benefits of a more than 90 mile trail linking our communities.

ARTA (Adirondack Recreational Trail Advocates) now has nearly 1,500 free members, with some generous donations coming in. We hope press releases after our Dec. 27 meeting dispel reservations some still have over the rail removal.

Thank you again for supporting this important effort.

Webb Way Committee thanks supporters

The Webb Way Committee at Town of Webb School would like to thank their sponsors for contributions for their recent fundraiser dinner. The roast pork dinner was a success with over 80 dinners served.

Special thanks go out to the sponsors, The Red Dog Tavern, who provided potatoes and mixed vegetables, and Walt’s Diner for providing creamers and butters.

The meal was cooked by school chef, Paul Geisler and his staff member, Lisa Hanford with assistance from faculty. It was served by faculty, administration, and staff of the Town of Webb School.

The Webb Way is a positive behavior incentive program for grades K-12. Students who follow The Webb Way of “Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Love to Learn, Achieve Excellence,” are rewarded quarterly. All proceeds from the dinner go directly back to the students.

If you have an interest in becoming a volunteer with this committee or have ideas for incentives, please contact Mrs. Judy Ehrensbeck at (315) 369-3222 ext. 3114.

Thank you,

Pat Harwood,

Webb Way Committee
