Bears

“We lure bears in with an easy meal and punish them with death for accepting our invitation.” - Sylvia Dolson, Get Bear Smart Society. Please be bear aware while vacationing in the Adirondacks. Always remember that bears, even the ones who are in town, are wild animals and should be respected as such. When bears become used to relying on people for food it never ends well for the bear. Put your garbage in a secured container, don’t leave food or garbage in your car or on your porch. And it should go with out saying, never purposefully feed bears. A fed bear is a dead bear. By being careful and following some common sense rules we can help to make sure that our bruin friends are around for many seasons. Keep an eye out for this logo in the coming months for more tips on how to be bear smart.
