Not for the squeamish

The second annual Old Forge Youth Fishing Day was held July 16. The program was sponsored by the New York State Conservation Officers Association, and was organized by Region 6 ECO Russ Ritzel. About 40 kids participated in the event, including the children in the Town of Webb’s summer Playschool program. The children were provided with fishing poles and were given the opportunity to fish from the dock on Old Forge Pond. They were instructed on everything from working a fishing pole to identifying a fish. In total, 31 fish were caught and released.
