Hoppy days are here again as the Central Adirondack Association presents the annual Father’s Day Frog Jumping Contest on Sunday, June 18. The event will take place on the Old Forge lakefront tennis courts at (jumping) high noon.
Children are encouraged to bring their favorite frog, with chances to win in the following categories: smallest frog, largest frog, fastest frog and longest jumper. There will also be a special category for the business-sponsored fastest frogs. The winner will get their business sponsor’s name engraved on the traveling trophy, and have bragging rights for the next year. Dads get and provide lots of additional fun by participating in the Ugly Tie Contest.
Frogs are handled with care throughout the competitions; all frogs are released into the wild after the event. The event will not be called off due to sliminess.
