The Memorial Day weekend in Old Forge started off with a little rain on Friday, getting some of the Great Adirondack Garage Sale patrons a little damp as they hunted for treasures. Saturday dawned a little cloudy but dry and the fireworks celebration had a hot pink sunset as its opening act. On Monday community members gathered together in the pouring rain at the parade to remember those who fell in service to our nation. Memorial Day is a great way to kick off the new summer season, as we remember those who gave everything for our country we get to spend time with family and friends and reflect on what’s important in our lives.
