Old Forge Fire Chief Charlie Bogardus said that the fire began around 8 a.m. in the garage of the structure.
Mike and Windy Kelly, owners of the business, were inside the building when the fire broke out. They called 911.
When volunteer firefighters from Old Forge, Inlet, Big Moose, and Otter Lake responded they found the garage fully engulfed. Bogardus said that there were around 12 snowmobiles inside the garage.
The cause of the fire is unknown. Since the building had a tin roof that didn’t allow for proper ventilating, the fire department called Mike Hunkins Excavating to push the building down so that the fire could be extinguished.
No one was injured during the fire.
The business opened in December of 2010.
