KYAC says thank you for
support as anniversary nears
The Kommunity Youth & Activity Center Board of Directors would like to thank everyone in our community for their generosity and support over the past year. Most recently, we want to thank the CAA for giving us the opportunity to operate the food concession at Snofest. That one event alone enabled us to raise almost $4,000 for this year’s KYAC operations. We would also like to express our gratitude to Kiwanis of The Central Adirondacks. Once again, they have donated all proceeds from the Winter Sports Challenge, totaling $6,000. We should remember that it was the membership of Kiwanis who championed the cause, funded, and organized the startup of KYAC. As we approach our first year anniversary of operation, we can assure you that the children of our area are thankful to have a place they can call their own. We also would like to tell you that they have worked extremely hard volunteering their time to make their dream a reality. Regardless of weather, sports, or school functions, there have always been some kids who have utilized the center every day that we are open. As we move forward with your continued support, we will operate the center for years to come.

WEBB thanks all for
successful basketball event
I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Wandering Eskimo Basketball Boosters (WEBB), to thank everyone for helping make this year’s Charity Basketball Game and Raffle such a tremendous success, raising in excess of $2500.00. The approximately four hundred people who showed up proved, once again, just how blessed we all are to live in an area where there is so much support for our local youth.
As anyone in attendance can attest, the Town of Webb Dream Team and Harlem Rockets played a very entertaining game, from the show-time dunks to the way they engaged the crowd. Kudos to all of the players for a very memorable performance. I would also like to acknowledge Mr. Gooley and the TOW School for providing us with the venue to hold our event, along with the students who helped with setting up and concession sales. Special thanks to Tim Leach, who was instrumental in both planning the game and seeing to it that everything ran smoothly on game day. And a very special thanks to WEBB Treasurer Bonnie Baker and Kristin Frymire, whose enthusiasm and desire to lend a hand are second to none.
Of course, I would be remiss if I failed to acknowledge the many businesses who donated items, making the WEBB Raffle possible: Van Auken’s Inne, Channel House Barber Shop, BJ’s Wholesale Club, The Donut Shop, Holly Woodworking, George’s Thing, Lady Jane, Big Moose Yamaha, Foley’s True Value Home Center, Old Forge Hardware, Frankie’s Taste of Italy, Souvenir Village, Mountain Peddler, Mountain Greenery, The Strand Theatre, Subway of Old Forge, BJ’s Wholesale Club, McCauley Mountain, Nancy Sehring’s Adirondack Moments, Malik Barron & Family, Patti Sehring’s Edible Art, FasTrac.
Once again, my sincere appreciation to all those who helped plan and manage the Charity Game, as well as to the entire community for your support.
Sincerely,
Chuck Walley, WEBB Chairman J
