The Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement (MVILR) at SUNYIT is offering more than 30 courses on a wide range of subjects for the four-week winter term that begins on Jan. 30.
Most courses are held at the SUNYIT campus and are strictly for the pleasure of learning with no grades, no homework, no exams and no credit.
Courses in the arts, sciences, philosophy, religion and social sciences will be offered as well as several winter sports and many other special interest courses.

The vocal music department at the Town of Webb School presented their annual holiday concerts recently, with the Junior Chorus and the Senior Chorus performing on Thursday, Dec. 15, and the Elementary Chorus performing on Friday, Dec. 16. The students have been practicing their songs for months in preparation for this opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer.

David Leach, Athletic Director for the Town of Webb Schools, was happy to announce that all four varsity teams playing in the fall sports season, were chosen to receive the state’s Scholar/Athlete Award for 2011. A predetermined number of athletes on each team must average 90 percent or better to be eligible.

Students from the Town of Webb and Inlet Schools got some holiday shopping done recently at Santa’s Secret Shop. Every year, Santa’s helpers from the PTC put together an array of inexpensive items so kids can buy gifts for their family, friends, and pets. The students enjoy choosing just the right gift, which helps put them the giving spirit of the holiday season.

Six students from the Town of Webb High School were inducted into the Hadarondah Chapter of the National Honor Society in a ceremony held at the school on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The Webb Way will be sponsoring a roast pork dinner, as a fundraiser for the school wide reward program, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the school cafeteria. The menu will include roast pork, mashed potatoes, vegetable, roll, beverage, and dessert. †

On Thursday, Feb. 17, the Town of Webb UFSD will be hosting the annual Family Math Night for K through 6 students and their parents. Math games are an integral part of the Everyday Math curriculum.
