The boys junior varsity basketball team played two games this past week against Rome Catholic and Oppenheim-Ephratah.
Wednesday, Jan. 3, the team played at Rome Catholic and lost in a close, low-scoring contest, 25-22. They went into the contest without their high scorer, Dane Daiker, who was moved up to help out the varsity team that was playing even more short handed. They felt that they would have won that contest with Daiker and should have won without h ...

Although most of the high school sports teams have been relatively quiet during the Christmas break, the girls varsity volleyball team has been quite busy.
On Tuesday, Dec. 27, the team took part in the Laidlaw Volleyball Tournament hosted by Canastota High School. The schools competing that day were placed into two pools. The “white” pool which was won by, appropriately enough, Whitesboro, and the “maroon” pool won by the host school, Can ...

Old Forge opened a 10-point lead after one period of play and it looked like it would be an easy victory. However, Remsen came back with a strong second period of play, and with some poor defensive ...

The girls’ varsity basketball team played only one game this past week and that was a non-league game at Little Falls last Tuesday, Dec. 13. Much like their opening game at Adirondack, they were matched up against a much larger school and much larger team. Little Falls had two girls that were much taller than our center and with a decided weight advantage. As you might expect, Little Falls had no trouble with their opponent and won the game easily.

The girls’ varsity basketball team opened their season of play with a non-league game at Adirondack last Thursday, Dec. 8.
Adirondack used their superior height advantage to easily defeat the Eskimos as they doubled the score on Old Forge. Adirondack had already had several scrimmages before this game with Old Forge having none which gave them an even greater advantage. No matter how you look at this game, Adirondack was simply too good for our team.& ...

As in most leagues, the Center State Conference honors its best athletes after the season is over and in accordance with how good their record was. The higher the finish, the more athletes will be placed on the all-star teams. Because the Town of Webb School had a winning season, good enough to tie for second place in our division, the school had six athletes named to post season honors. Three athletes made the all-star team and three athletes made the honorable mention team.

Hamilton proved too strong for the Old Forge team as they ground out a tough 2-0 victory over a spunky Eskimo team. It was the fourth straight Section III Class D Championship for Hamilton.
Old Forge had to play with some injured players that normally play up and down the middle of the field where they are especially strong, and it posed a problem throughout the contest. They played a more defensive game all through the first half, and the team gave it their all a ...

The boys’ modified soccer team played only one game this week and that was a home game against Johnsburg last Thursday, Oct. 13.
The visiting Johnsburg team only brought nine players with them and that did not seem to inspire our local team.
